A couple of thoughts:

First, I don't object to taking the core premise of Casablanca and updating it to a modern setting. Making a movie called Casablanca, set in 1941 and with characters named Rick Blaine, Ilsa Lund, Victor Lazlo, and Captain Renault -- well, that would piss me off. But it doesn't sound like that's what's being proposed here.

Second, who does Madonna think she's kidding? Unless she pays for the thing herself and withholds sex to get her hubby to direct, nobody is going to bankroll her in anything. The woman is box office poison. The only film she's ever been in that made any kind of bank was Desperately Seeking Susan, and that was 25 years ago.

So, I would say calm down, locate your towel, have a nice cup of tea or the local variant of gin-n-tonic, and listen for the peals of laughter soon to be heard from the film industry...
