I can understand her concerns about creator's rights, and control of her own work. She may even have guarantees with her publisher about where and when segments of her work get released. However, where it seems here to be a case of one person being careless (or malicious, as the case may be), I hate to see her punishing her whole fanbase for the actions of one person.
On the other hand, this is also someone who is probably very trusting and is surprised to find out that there are people in the world who aren't as trustworthy as she would like to think they are. And if that threw her into a depression, which caused her not to be able to write anymore... *shrug*
