Agreed. That's the whole thing the word marriage implies: a contract with each other and with the community-at-large to build and raise a family together, with connections both to your ancestors and to your descendants. Raising children to become contributing members of society. I owe it to my community, I think.
The unfortunate irony of this is that, judging from all the posts I've seen about Prop. 8, if I were to express my views in my blog, at least half of my readers would label me a bigot and hate-monger.
